Culture: Windmills are heavy nitrogen feeders
and when given regular applications can be a very great looking
palm. Growth rate is about 1.42 feet per year and looks best
in partial shade, but will tolerate a wide range of conditions
down to 10 degree’s. Have been grown with success even
in New Jersey. Use a sand mix 75% with 25% peat moss, fertilize
at time of planting with a time-release micronutrient fertilizer,
also in spring and late summer. |
